Waterloo Police Foundation
Mission Statement
The Waterloo Police Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes excellence, partnership and community outreach. The Waterloo Police Foundation is supported by the Waterloo Police Protective Association and the Waterloo Community Foundation. The Police Foundation invests in innovative community based outreach programs to help build positive relationships between police officers and the community.
The Waterloo Police Foundation serves as a vehicle for tax-exempt gifts and grants from individuals, businesses, and philanthropies. The Police Foundation works closely with the Police Chief and the Waterloo Police Protective Association (WPPA) to develop a strategic program agenda. The Foundation encourages and supports the Waterloo Police Department with several Youth and Community outreach programs:
- “Cops and Kids” program-Christmas shopping event and back to school shopping
- Waterloo Police Department Employee of the Month
- Situational community policing efforts initiated by Waterloo police officers.
It takes the support of everyone to allow the Waterloo Police Department to build positive relationships and strengthen our community.
